Lakewood associate pastor, John Gray, who resides in River Oaks—a residential community in the center of Houston, Texas—is praying for his city currently being devastated by Storm Harvey.

The preacher has taken to social media to offer up prayers for those impacted by the floods that have, so far, killed six, left thousands homeless, and trapped 7 million people in a federally designated disaster area.

“Praying for the city of Houston and praying again for families who have been affected by what’s happening right now,” said the I Am Number 8 author in an Instagram video. “God I’m asking that you protect, heal, save lives; that you will send rescuers; that you will speak to the water, have it recede.”
