New Yorkers defiant after deadliest terror attack in the city since 9/11:

After a 29-year-old man drove a truck into a Manhattan crowd on Tuesday, killing eight and wounding almost a dozen in the deadliest terror attack to hit the city since 9/11, New Yorkers made it clear that they refused to be intimidated.

Families celebrated a traditional Halloween Paradehours after the attack, surrounded by police officers armed with long guns while dozens of local and federal law enforcement officers were still investigating the attack.

“This was an act of terror, and a particularly cowardly act of terror,” New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said, “aimed at innocent civilians, aimed at people going about their lives who had no idea what was about to hit them.”

How the New York City truck attack unfolded:

At least eight people were killed Tuesday in what New York officials are calling a terror attack. Here’s what we know so far about what happened, per the New York Police Department.

Around 3:05 p.m. a man drove a truck onto the West Side Highway bike path.

The truck entered near Houston Street. It was a rental from Home Depot, the home improvement chain said.

The driver continued down the path, hitting bicyclists and pedestrians.

Rose McGowan responds to arrest warrant:

There is an arrest warrant out for actress Rose McGowan for felony drug possession.

According to a statement from Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department, the warrant was issued in February for an incident alleged to have occurred in January near Washington. DC.
“On February 1, 2017, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Rose McGowan, an actress from Encino, California, for possession of a controlled substance,” the statement read. “The felony charge stems from a police investigation of personal belongings that tested positive for narcotics and were left behind on United flight 653 arriving at Washington Dulles International Airport on January 20, 2017.”

New York’s Halloween parade goes on amid heightened security:

Undeterred by a deadly attack hours earlier and just a few blocks away, New Yorkers gathered Tuesday night in Manhattan’s West Village for Halloween festivities.

The 44th annual Village Halloween Parade went on as planned amid increased increased security after a truck tore through a bike path on New York City’s West Side Highway. The NYPD installed more personnel, blocker trucks and officers with long guns along the parade route, spokesman Eric Phillips said.
