Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball said he hasn’t spoken with his brother, LiAngelo Ball, since the UCLA freshman forward was arrested in Hangzhou, China, along with two teammates on suspicion of shoplifting. Ball and fellow freshmen Cody Riley and Jalen Hill were all released on bail Wednesday.
Lonzo also said he hasn’t had any contact with other family members. His father, LaVar, mother, Tina, and youngest brother, LaMelo, all accompanied LiAngelo in China for UCLA’s game against Georgia Tech.
“I am over here taking care of business. I haven’t talked to any of them,” Ball told reporters in Boston during the Lakers’ shootaround. “I know they are all over there in China taking care of it, so I will talk to them when they get back.
“I am just trying to focus on the game. …I’m letting my people over there handle it.”
