I’m sharing 5 of my favorite gratitude verses with you. Begin with these and add more of your own!

#1 “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT) Whether the season is calm or hectic, happy or sad, easy or difficult, we are to be thankful through it all. Gratitude should be our constant state of being, not an occasional practice.

#2 “Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.” (James 1:17 NLT) Don’t focus on all there is to complain about. There’s plenty, I’m sure! Try thinking about the good and perfect gifts God has given you. It will instantly change your mood and attitude.

#3 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” (Philippians 4:6 NLT) It’s easy to become anxious around the holidays because of financial strain, family issues, trying to please people, the pressure to host an incredible dinner, decorate just right, or get that turkey juicy, and not dry. Kick worry to the curb with prayer, a side of macaroni and candied yams, along with the heftiest serving of thankfulness.
