In the world, you are never enough, despite what they may say.

They’ll tell you you’re beautiful… if you change the natural texture of your hair. They say you’re talented,

if your talent lives up to an arbitrary standard set by some secret group we call “society.”

You’re either too thin, or too thick; too brash, or too humble; too flawed, or too “perfect.”

We are constantly under pressure to change things to be accepted, be it our personality, our looks, or

our skill set. Being yourself is never truly enough, and we often bring this mentality into our relationship

with God.

We feel like we have to earn God’s love by being perfect, free of flaws—but not so! John 3:16 (ESV)

says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not

perish but have eternal life.”

God loved you before you came to know Him, flaws and all. It is because of this amazing love that He

gave up His only Son; if He wanted perfect, He just would have kept Jesus.

And how great is God’s love for us? It is so great that He, a just God, put aside justice for grace; grace

for a world that doesn’t love Him, and people that He really doesn’t need.
