Grown-ish starring, Yara Shahidi has been renewed for a second season by Freeform.
According to Deadline, Grown-ish has received a 20-episode second season order.
The Black-ish spin-off premiered January 3rd as Freeform’s highest-rated comedy debut in nearly six years.
The half-hour college comedy tackles current social issues and complexities facing both students and administrators. It follows Zoey (Shahidi), Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Rainbow’s (Tracee Ellis Ross) popular, entitled, stylish and socially active 17-year-old daughter, as she heads into her freshman year of college at Cal U.
The show also stars Deon Cole, Trevor Jackson, Francia Raisa, Luka Sabbat, and Chloe x Halle, who also recorded the title song for the show
