Four more flu-related deaths have been reported in Cuyahoga County this week, brining the total number of fatalities this season to 21.
According to the Cuyahoga County Board of Health, the four reported deaths were:
– Cleveland: 61-year-old female
– Cleveland: 88-year-old female
– Cleveland: 91-year-old female
Highland Heights: 93-year-old female
The Board of Health notes that there have been 1,450 flu-related hospitalizations to date. The highest seasonal total was 1,581 during the 2014-15 season.
83% of those hospitalized this season have been age 50 or older
