Lewis, who stars on ABC’s Black-ish, posted a heartfelt video of herself singing Thursday morning,  triggered by the school shooting that happened in Parkland, Florida on Wednesday afternoon.

“Our children shouldn’t have to run from bullets,” Lewis sings as she plays the piano.

According to MSNBC, Wednesday’s shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School is the 18th school shooting this year, and this is just February.

The gunman, Nikolas Cruz, accused of opening fire with a semi-automatic rifle, was recently expelled from Douglas for disciplinary reasons.  He has been charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder, officials said Thursday morning.

17 people were killed and another 14 were wounded.

Our prayers are with the families, and friends of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
