A Warrensville Heights High School student was arrested on Wednesday after a gun was confiscated by school officials.

The gun was discovered as the student went through the school’s metal detector. According to Warrensville Heights Superintendent Donald Jolly, the school immediately contacted law enforcement.

Jolly added in a statement: “Our scholars’ safety is our top priority and we have measures in place, such as metal detectors, to keep the high school and our other educational facilities secure.
