Police: Stabbing suspect wanted revenge; 6 kids among injured:

Timmy Kinner wanted revenge for being kicked out of an Idaho apartment complex, police say.

So Kinner attacked a 3-year-old’s birthday party at the complex, which houses refugees, and stabbed nine people, including six children, Boise Police Chief William Bones said Sunday.
Kinner has been charged with nine counts of aggravated battery and six counts of injury to a child, Bones said.
Four victims have life-threatening injuries, authorities said. Six are between 3 and 12 years old.

Ocasio-Cortez: ‘A lot of districts’ are like mine:

Newly minted Democratic congressional nominee Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she believes there are districts across the country primed for the kind of candidacy she represents.

“There are a lot of districts in this country that are like New York 14,” Ocasio-Cortez said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
Ocasio-Cortez stunned many when she defeated New York Democratic Rep. Joe Crowley on Tuesday following a campaign in which she espoused a series of unabashedly left-wing policy priorities.
Speaking on Sunday, Ocasio-Cortez said while she believes her success can be mirrored in other districts, there is room in the party for candidates less left-wing than herself.
“Democrats are a big tent party,” she said. “You know, I’m not trying to impose an ideology on all several hundred members of Congress. But I do think that, once again, it’s not about selling an -ism, or an ideology, or a label or a color. This is about selling our values.”

Magic Johnson Paved the Way for LeBron James More Than You Think:

Where LeBron James winds up is anyone’s guess, but the betting man’s pick in Las Vegas, at least, is that James goes to Los Angeles.

The tea leaves are there that link James to the city. He has a residence in Los Angeles. His production company is located there as well. He has—according to Gary Payton—been eyeing Chatsworth’s Sierra Canyon, a school known to attract both celebrity and basketball talents in equal measure, as a potential fit for his oldest son, Bronny. LeBron has allegedly exchanged text messages with Kevin Durant about joining the Lakers. He has also spoken with Kawhi Leonard, who has been eyeing Los Angeles too.

Wildfires bring orange skies, ash to parts of Northern California:

It looked like a scene from an apocalypse movie as eerie, orange-brown haze saturated the San Francisco sky over the weekend.

With two wildfires burning in counties north of the city, ash and smoke covered parts of the Bay Area and Northern California, turning the skyline into a sepia color.
