A voluntary recall has been issued for certain Ritz Cracker sandwiches and Ritz Bits products in the United States due to the potential presence of Salmonella.
Mondelēz Global LLC, the company that manufactures the snacks, announced the voluntary recall on Saturday.
The company says the snacks contain a whey powder as an ingredient — which the whey powder supplier has recalled due to the potential presence of Salmonella.
Mondelēz Global adds the recall was issued as a precaution, based on the ingredient supplier’s recall.
