On a gloomy night, a few dozen in Cleveland battled the rain to talk about a growing problem in this country and the State of Ohio: depression.
“I am a suicide survivor from 2016,” Moussa Saliba says. “They didn’t think I was going to make it – I did.”
He is taking part in National Suicide Prevention Week.
In Ohio alone, the number of suicides in recent years is up 30-37%. according to the Department of Disease Control and Prevention.
“It’s an uphill battle, Saliba says. “Sometimes it’s an all-out war. If you make it through the battle, you can win the war.”
Many were on hand at Public Square to focus on suicide awareness as the Terminal Tower turned blue and orange to mark the cause.
