HOW TO OBSERVE

Join Benihana by celebrating National Fried Rice Day with a side of Hibachi Chicken Rice. Share your favorite meal on social media using #NationalFriedRiceDay.

Benihana will kick-off the first annual National Fried Rice Day with a nationwide celebration. A lot of “heart” goes into the creation of this Benihana signature dish, and that’s exactly what two of their highly trained master chefs will show by attempting to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD™ title for Longest Cooking Marathon. Their chefs will try their hand at cooking fried rice for 42 continuous hours on a 500-degree grill in New York and Chicago beginning at 4 p.m. CST/5 p.m/ EST on September 18.

On September 20, customers will receive a complimentary serving of their famous fried rice with a purchase of an entree at all Benihana locations nationwide.

Benihana founded National Fried Rice Day because high-quality rice isn’t just another side dish to them; it’s a foundational element of every meal they serve. Benihana has been dishing the irresistible flavor of their famous fried rice to generations of foodies for over half a century, serving roughly 2,720,350 pounds of California-grown rice each year. Fried Rice is beloved throughout the globe and an iconic part of the Benihana experience.

The Registrar at National Day Calendar proclaimed National Fried Rice Day to be celebrated annually in 2018.
