Americans across the nation will celebrate this National Day on the fourth Tuesday in September.

More than 300,000 Americans registered to vote in the inaugural National Voter Registration Day of 2012.

There are hundreds of local, state and national organizations that are the driving forces behind this Day, and partner organizations help to coordinate thousands of public events to bring awareness to ballot initiatives, local elections, and voter registration.

HISTORY

The National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) established the first National Voter Registration Day on September 25, 2012.  In 2014, the NASS established the Fourth Tuesday of September as the official day for National Voter Registration Day.
