1 law enforcement officer killed in Florence, South Carolina, 6 others wounded:
Seven law enforcement officers were shot, one fatally, during a standoff Wednesday in Florence, South Carolina, city police Chief Allen Heidler said.
Florence County Sheriff’s deputies were executing a search warrant when a man opened fire, said Maj. Mike Nunn, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office. The man then barricaded himself in the home with children during the two-hour standoff, Nunn said.
The other officers were shot as they responded to assist their fellow officers, authorities said.
“These officers went there unknowing the firepower this suspect had. … They thought it was a random search warrant,” Florence County Sheriff Kenney Boone said

Now, the girl’s parents are fighting to keep her on life support while seeking another hospital to care for her.
Payton has been on life support at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, since late September, after she went into cardiac arrest.
Bumble to expand to India with the help of actress Priyanka Chopra:
Bumble is the latest online dating app to compete for the hearts of women in India.
Bumble, whichrequires women to make the first move, announced Wednesday plans to launch in India later this year. Indian celebrity Priyanka Chopra, a new investor in the company, will advise on the expansion.
The news comes less than a week after rival Tinder launched a My Move feature in India that gives women the option to prevent men from initiating a conversation.
