Hurricane Michael is ‘extremely dangerous’ Category 4 storm hours before landfall:
Michael intensified from a Category 3 storm early Wednesday, hours before its expected landfall in the afternoon
If it makes landfall as a Category 4, it’ll be the strongest hurricane to hit the Florida Panhandle in recorded history, CNN meteorologist Michael Guy said. It would also be the strongest storm in terms of wind speed to make landfall in the country this year.
Only three major hurricanes Category 3 or higher have struck the Panhandle since 1950: Eloise in 1975, Opal in 1995 and Dennis in 2005.

High school football player died of cardiac arrest stemming from head injury, coroner says:
The 16-year-old’s death has been ruled an accident, the statement said. Specifically, his cardiac arrest was the result of “traumatic brain injury due to or as a consequence of a closed head injury.”
No autopsy was conducted because Thomas’ injuries were documented at the hospital, according to the statement.
The athlete’s parents are fine with the decision not to conduct an autopsy, coroner Terrell Moody said, adding that the mother and father did not wish to make any statement.
