Christmas is over and those who opted for real trees this holiday season may be unsure how to dispose of it.

Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District is offering details on how to recycle your Christmas tree so it doesn’t end up in the landfill this year.

Many local farms take Christmas trees to use for animal feed, according to Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District.

A farm on Cleveland’s East Side, Kelly’s Working Well Farm, accepts donations at their location. Visit them at 16495 South Franklin St. in Chagrin Falls or contact them at 440-247-7825.

The city’s West Side has Stearns Homestead accepting donations at their location at 6975 Ridge Rd in Parma. Undecorated trees for donation can be left along the fence in the front pasture.

The Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District also offers a list of compost facilities in the area that are accepting Christmas trees on their website .

Artificial trees are non-recyclable and should be placed in the trash if they are no longer being used.
