Trump shows weakness as 2020 rivals emerge:

Donald Trump’s enemies smell blood in the water.

Once, the President’s uncanny sense for weakness in others helped him destroy the deepest Republican primary field in history. Now, the suddenly quickening 2020 presidential race and a Capitol Hill power play by Democrats suggest that Trump is beginning to take on the look of prey for opponents ready to pounce on his sub-40% approval rating.
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris focused directly on Trump’s character on the second day of her campaign, during a CNN town hall event in Iowa on Monday.

“It’s very important that anyone who presents themselves as a leader and wants to be a leader will speak like a leader,” Harris said, not mentioning the President by name but leaving no doubt about her target.

4 Houston police officers shot while serving warrant:

Multiple Houston police officers were shot Monday while serving a search warrant, Police Chief Art Acevedo said.

About a dozen narcotics officers, along with several patrol officers, had responded to a residence where police suspected drugs were being sold, Acevedo told reporters late Monday night. The narcotics officers announced themselves as they breached the front door shortly before 5 p.m. Then, the gunfire started, Acevedo said.
“Immediately upon breaching the door, the officers came under fire from one or two suspects inside the house,” Acevedo said.
One suspect retreated to the back of the room, the police chief said, then re-emerged and again returned fire.

75% of the US population will suffer below-freezing temps this week:

Schools in Minnesota are closing, Illinois’ governor is warning residents about hypothermia, and hundreds of flights have been canceled at Denver Airport.

Even parts of the United States accustomed to cold weather are preparing for the worst.
About 220 million people — or 75% of the continental US population — will endure below-freezing temperatures this week.
The biting cold already has caused at least one death in Minnesota and another in Illinois. In many parts of the country, the coldest weather is yet to come.:

iPhone FaceTime bug lets other people eavesdrop on you:

A newly discovered bug in Apple’s FaceTime software lets Apple users listen in on the people they are calling, and even see through their front-facing camera, without them picking-up the call.

The bug, flagged by 9to5Mac on Monday, was quickly recreated by people across social media. CNN Business confirmed the bug multiple times in its own tests.
Apple said in a statement Monday night that it has identified a fix for the problem and will release it in a software update later this week. In the meantime, Apple’s website indicates Group FaceTime is unavailable, and the company confirmed it has started disabling the Group FaceTime feature for all users.

A boy who was lost in the woods says a bear kept him company. No one can prove it didn’t happen.:

We may never know what Casey Hathaway was doing during the three days he was missing.

He was found on Thursday, cold but alive, in a mess of vines and thorns.
But the 3-year-old has volunteered one noteworthy detail about those days in the woods: a bear kept him company.
“He made a comment about having a friend while he was in the woods — his friend was a bear,” Maj. David McFadyen with the Craven County Sheriff’s Office told CNN Monday. “In the emergency room he started talking about what happened in the woods and he said he had a friend that was a bear with him while he was in the woods.”
