Sam Sylk's Reality Hour
#samsylkshow 888.409.0931 Sam Sylk Show Dear SamA guy at work is always nice to me, and what I mean by that is probably a little nicer to me than others, but just a great co-worker. Well one day he approached me and said “hey I noticed that you like the same kind of music that I like, would you like to attend this show with me?” I said sure that would be fun. The night of the show we met up our jobs parking lot I got in the car with him and we went to the show. While at the concert we went to get in line to get drinks when I went to pay he said absolutely not he got it, when I insisted that I pay for the drinks since he bought these great tickets he still insisted on paying. We had a blast at the show singing and chair dancing, it was really great. When we left the show we got into his car to take me back to my car at the job. When we arrived, I thanked him and told him I had an awesome time see you at work tomorrow, that’s when he leaned over for a kiss. It totally through me off and I turned my head then his lips ended awkwardly on the side of my chin. The thing is I never looked at this as a date, just 2 co-workers going out to kick it. Now he won’t talk to me at work and avoids me like the plague. Was I wrong to assume that we were just going to the show as friends/co-workers? And just because I go out with you somewhere does that constitute me kissing you? We have to work together and his avoidance is a little hindering. What should I do with making this a personal issue in a work environment?Posted by 93.1 WZAK Cleveland on Thursday, November 29, 2018
#samsylkshow 888.409.0931 Sam Sylk Show Dear SamEvery year for Thanksgiving it's a tradition that my family & friends come to my house for the holiday. After we eat and watch Football the women take cat naps. Then we get up and hit the streets for Black Friday shopping then we all meet up for Breakfast somewhere then later chill out at the house watching Holiday movies, laughing and talking. Every year my childhood friend that I don't see that much throughout year joins us. Her parents passed away some years ago. She is single with no kids and her family is pretty much estranged. The issue is back in the day she was the rude always in fights girl, mean and negative. Somehow we always got along maybe I always was able to see the loyal/softer side of her. But nevertheless she hasn't changed in all these years and always brings drama to the festivities by being an attention whore. I usually just make excuses for her behavior, or laugh it off but I have changed over the years, I'm in a different place now not to mention she drives my fiance nuts. I feel bad but she needs to change her nasty angry attitude but I don't know how to tell her that but even worse I don't know how to uninvite her to something that has been a tradition to her too. I love her to death but I have outgrown the B S. Am I wrong? Any advice?Posted by 93.1 WZAK Cleveland on Thursday, November 15, 2018
#samsylkshow 888.409.0931 Sam Sylk Show Dear SamI have been married to my husband for 23 years and we have 3 children together. When we first got married everything was great, he was an excellent father, lover and friend. But Now 23 married years down the road he is still an excellent father but a horrible friend and distant lover. He never talks to me anymore he more or less talks down on me. I'm not pretty enough, smart enough or good in bed. Every time he knocks me I try to make improvements but still he seems unimpressed. I have reached out to one of the ministers at my church and he has been giving some great advice however my husband doesn't seemed moved. But recently the minister (he is single) and I have been developing feelings for one another, he makes me feel good about myself although we have not crossed the line I'm starting to really feel like I want to. I love my husband but I really don't think he loves me. Should I move on to divorce so I can have a relationship with my minister or should I try to work it out once again?Posted by 93.1 WZAK Cleveland on Tuesday, November 27, 2018
#samsylkshow 888.409.0931 Sam Sylk Show Dear SamI was out partying after a break up. I met this guy I was feeling a little vulnerable left the club and went with him to a hotel. Yes it was a one night stand and I'm cool with it. I didn't plan on seeing him again. Well me and my boyfriend patched things up. One night he tells me that he had a new co-worker that was single and he thought it would be cool to hook him up with my BFF that is single. We make arrangements for them to meet with us out for dinner one night and I'll be damned if my husbands co-worker wasn't the guy that I had the one night stand with. He and my BFF hit it off and oddly enough but what made me relax at dinner is he seemed not to remember me. I blew a sigh of relief. But they continued to see each other and seemed to be getting along ok. We all decided to go out on another double date and had a blast. But this time when we went to leave the establishment while walking to our cars my BFF new dude, when no one was paying attention, he patted my on the butt and whispered "hey lady" and smiled. I kinda just played it off and kept moving. My question is do I need to address him privately or tell my BFF and my boyfriend about me and this guys one night knowledge of each other?Posted by 93.1 WZAK Cleveland on Wednesday, November 14, 2018
#samsylkshow 888.409.0931 Sam Sylk Show Dear SamMy boyfriend took a great job all the way in Alabama a year and a half ago. I have a great job here in Cleveland. My boyfriend wanted to continue our relationship. We try to visit as much as we can he sometimes comes here and I sometimes go there. We talk on the phone as much as we can when we are not at work. But things have gotten a little awkward feeling. I don't want to pressure him into marriage but in my mind something has got to give. Realistically how long can I continue to be in a relationship with a person that I'm not in the same state with? And if we do finally get to the marriage stage who gives up who's dream job?Posted by 93.1 WZAK Cleveland on Thursday, November 8, 2018
#samsylkshow 888.409.0931 Sam Sylk Show Dear SamI think I met the man of my dreams. He is kind, loving, hard working and raising his son as a single parent. I just recently graduated from college and landed the job of my dreams. Life seems amazing right? Well I took him home to meet my parents and they weren't crazy at all about him having a child and the thought of me potentially becoming a stepmom without having a child of my own. My family are EXTREMELY devout Baptists. But what really set them off was when they asked him about his relationship with God and he said he didn't have one as a matter of fact he says he's a non-believer!! I had no idea. On the way home from my parents I felt so confused and heartbroken. Here I thought our challenge was his child but it's the fact that he doesn't believe he is a child of God. I really love this man as well as his child but how can I continue a relationship with a man that doesn't believe in God? I have kinda been stand offish to him ever since but he has been still adamantly pursuing me? What can I or should I do?Posted by 93.1 WZAK Cleveland on Thursday, November 1, 2018
#samsylkshow 888.409.0931 Sam Sylk Show Dear Sam My husband and I dated for many years got engaged a little over a year ago so needless to say we are newly weds. My husband has always been a happy go lucky, knows everybody, greets everybody and even an inisint flirt most the time. One of the things that attracted to me to him was his bubbly, overly social personality but the way he greets people has got to change now that we are married. You see he is a hugger and when he see's women he knows out and about he hugs them and kisses them on lips. Nothing romantic but still it's on the lips. We had our first lil fight about this he says the kisses mean nothing not mention it wasn't like a secret that he greeted folks that way, he said I never made it an issue before. Plus he doesn't want people to think that he is acting funny now especially since I'm not that loving social bunny he is. I told him that we are married now, and it is just not a good look. Can you help us?Posted by 93.1 WZAK Cleveland on Friday, October 26, 2018
888.409.0931 #samsylkshow Sam Sylk Show Dear SamMy best friend and her husband are having some serious marital problems and she is talking about divorcing him. My friend says that she is tired of his old school ways the money he makes and she says he just won't reinvent himself. She continues to grow up the corporate ladder and she says he is not keeping up with her. She also says that she loves him but she is not "in" love with him anymore. She has also started secretly dating other guys unbenounced to him. She has become real petty, mean and doesn't really have time for their child alot of the times. My dilemma? Well her husband feels that something is wrong and he has been coming to me for help with their daughter as far as getting her hair done and giving her rides to or from school or her friends birthday parties. My friend knows all of this but doesn't care but I am starting to have feelings for her husband not too mention I think she is handling this situation all wrong and I have told her so. She just laughs it off. Her husband is really hurting and says he is trying to work on things to get their marriage back on track. I personally know that according to her there is no getting back on track. Should I tell her husband what I do know? And am I wrong for loving her husband and should I him then her?Posted by 93.1 WZAK Cleveland on Tuesday, October 23, 2018
888.409.0931 #samsylkshow Sam Sylk Show Dear SamI was hanging out watching movies at my girlfriends house watching movies. During a movie change I went to the restroom when I came back to the living room she was going through my phone. I asked her why was she going through my phone, she said she thought she heard it vibrate and was just getting it for me. I let it go. But now I'm getting phone calls from females I haven't talked to in a long time saying that the have been getting strange phone calls from a woman asking questions about me. I confronted my girl about this and she finally admitted it, she said "yes I have been going through your phone for a while and I did want to know what the nature of these women's relationship with you was." Some of the numbers were just female friends, relative's, co-workers etc etc. She wanted to know why I still have these peoples numbers in my phone if I'm longer with them. I told her that was really none of her business that's when she hit me with "I am her business". She also informed me that "guess what I read your emails in your phone too but didn't find anything fishy". She told me to relax she knows I'm being faithful just women need to check they men out thoroughly from time to time. On top of that I will give her my debit card to get us snacks or what have you but she didn’t tell me that she used my card to buy a blouse online. Again she said “It was only $20!!??” She said was going to give it back to me. I still feel some kind of way about it. I'm 25 years old should I write this off as just something a woman does or do I kick her to the curb?Posted by 93.1 WZAK Cleveland on Thursday, October 18, 2018
888.409.0931 Sam Sylk Show Dear SamA friend of mine set me up with a blind date with a friend of hers. I spoke with the guy on the phone a couple of times then I agreed to meet him for drinks that following weekend. I get to the spot where we agreed to meet, he was nice looking and really polite. A perfect gentleman up until the bill came. We had each had a couple of drinks and we shared an order of chicken wings but when the waitress came with the bill he told her we were paying separately and since I wanted wings those should go on my bill. After the waitress walked away to separate the bill I looked at him strange. He said since this was the first time we had officially met in person it wasn't really a date and it would be improper for him to pay the entire bill. He has tried to call me but I haven't taken his call. My friend that set us up called me and said the guy really liked me and was concerned that I hadn't returned his call. I told my friend that the bill incident really turned me off, what kind of man does that? But my friend thinks i'm being a little petty and judgemental. She thinks he deserves another shot. What do you think?Posted by 93.1 WZAK Cleveland on Tuesday, October 16, 2018
888.409.0931 Dear SamMy daughter is a young freshman in high school (my daughter started school a year early) and as you know its homecoming time. My baby girls momma asked me to help fund her to get a dress, which turned into an argument because I said I wanted to see the dress before I would pay for it, I don't want her to be on the hot ghetto mess page. But the thing that has really got me heated is the little dude that she says is taking her is a senior and he would be driving her. She said the dude is a son of someone from her church and she would trust him with her life. I say to her that's cool with your life but not with my daughters!! I tell her if you want me to pay for a dress then she has to go stag and I'll take her. She says I'm wrong plus these folks have already invested in this date. Not to mention she says I really don't have any say for real. Am I wrong? If it were you what would you do? I say she is too young to date even if it is just for homecoming!!888.409.0931 #samsylkshow #chicago #clevelandPosted by 93.1 WZAK Cleveland on Thursday, October 4, 2018
888.409.0931 Sam Sylk Show Dear SamMy wife just recently had our 3rd child. And this child doesn't look like me, her, our other two or anybody I know. Now we have had marital problems prior to her getting pregnant this 3rd time and I will admit that I had been unfaithful. I don't know for sure if she ever had been or not. And I must admit her getting pregnant again had brought us closer together. But you know that old saying mama's baby daddy's maybe? When I look at this baby, that saying pops in my head. I feel bad about it but am I wrong for wanting her to get a DNA test? How do I approach my doubts about it with her? #samsylkshow #chicago #cleveland #cincyPosted by 93.1 WZAK Cleveland on Wednesday, October 3, 2018
8.409.0931 Sam Sylk Show Dear Sam, I’ve been seeing this guy for over 8 years, and of course we care for each other, and it shows by what he does for me. He has always been my friend w/benefits because I’ve been single mostly that whole time. So when I met someone else and got into a relationship, I stopped having sex with him but we still talk here and there. Someone told him who I was dating, at the time he got so mad with me he didn’t talk to me for weeks and when we did talk it was nothing but anger he later explained why he was so mad he said that I hurt his feelings however we moved passed that so my relationship had ended and I haven’t talked to him nor seen him so in a humble I seen him out we exchanged numbers and we started back where we kind of left off. Idk what it is but we always seem to come back to each other. So it’s been a year of us back dealing with each other, no commitment and I’m okay with that. I started spending the night at his house, we would tell each other that we love one another frequently. He has always been there for me especially financially whenever we’re together he makes me a feel like a shy little girl. So we recently had a date and during the date he made the comment like” so who’s gonna walk you down the aisle when we get married?” and of course in my head I’m like he better stop playing but then I say well is he serious? I replied jokingly "myself" and we laughed. The date went on and I took a few pictures , I have FB & IG but he doesn’t like social media at all. I posted a pic then I deleted. He called the next day and asked if I posted a pic of him and I told him yes but I deleted it, he went on to say why? I explained, he immediately got angry and said he’s done with me. Now he won't talk to me so I texted him apologizing and he replied “I’m not happy how we are today “. Every since this has happened I been a mess, Idk what should I do? Should I wait around to see if he come back? Or should I just give up? #samsylkshow #clevelandohio #chicagoPosted by 93.1 WZAK Cleveland on Tuesday, October 2, 2018
