More workers face layoffs at Lordstown’s General Motors plant as Leadec announced its services with the factory will end next month.

According to a WARN letter sent to the Ohio Dept. of Job and Family Services from complex manager Jessica Jones, Leadec will lay off 63 union employees and 10 non-union employees.

Those positions are mostly janitorial, as well as some mechanical and maintenance related jobs.

The layoffs will be permanent with the GM plant scheduled to cease operations next month. More than 1,600 GM employees will also lose their jobs.

According to the letter, the layoffs will take effect March 8, when GM’s contract with Leadec comes to an end.
