Experts split on whether Boeing 737 MAX 8 should continue to fly:

The second fatal crash of a Boeing 737 MAX 8 in six months raises the question: Is the plane safe to fly?

Following a crash in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Abba on Sunday, aviation safety experts and regulators from around the world are divided on the question.

“I’ve never said that it’s unsafe to fly a particular model of aircraft, but in this case, I’m going to have to go there,” said David Soucie, a former FAA safety inspector who is now a CNN safety analyst. “I would watch for that aircraft. I’m so sorry to say that.”
Soucie said he would not get on a 737 MAX 8 plane today because travelers don’t have enough information.

Vitriol and deflection: The return of the White House press briefing:

The only thing worse than the near extinction of press briefings in the Trump White House might be actually having a briefing.

In her first appearance behind her iconic podium in 42 days, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders on Monday did nothing to answer questions boiling up about President Donald Trump, the administration and associated scandals during her long absence.
But Sanders was more than happy to use reporters’ questions to spread the latest toxin injected into Washington’s political bloodstream by the President — the ideas that Democrats want to kill babies and they hate Jews.

Nancy Pelosi: ‘I’m not for impeachment,’ slams Trump as ‘not worth it’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi does not currently support impeaching President Donald Trump despite thinking that he’s unfit for the country’s highest office, according to a Washington Post magazine interview published Monday.

“I’m not for impeachment,” Pelosi said. “This is news. I’m going to give you some news right now because I haven’t said this to any press person before. But since you asked, and I’ve been thinking about this: Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country. And he’s just not worth it.”
