Eddie Murphy’s long-awaited “Coming to America” sequel now has an official release date, and it comes a month after the actor noted his excitement over the project.

The highly anticipated follow up will arrive August 7, 2020 theatrical release, as reported by Variety.

The project will be directed by Craig Brewer (“Hustle & Flow) who will work from a script by “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris, who is re-writing a previous draft by original “Coming to America” writers, Barry Blaustein and David Sheffield, per comicbook.com.

Murphy will reprise his role as Prince Akeem from the 1988 original. He will also co-produce with Brewer. Here’s what he had to say about the upcoming sequel:
