Peter Mayhew, Chewbacca in ‘Star Wars,’ dies at 74:

Peter Mayhew, the original Chewbacca, has died, according to his agent.

Mayhew, 74, died on April 30 with his family by his side in his North Texas home. He is survived by his wife, Angie, and three children.
The Hollywood icon played Chewbacca in the original “Star Wars” trilogy, episode 3 of the prequels and the New Trilogy, according to a statement from his family.
Mayhew, who once used a wheelchair because of a bum knee, stood tall to portray Chewbacca once more in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” He also consulted on “The Last Jedi” to help teach his successor.

‘Jeopardy!’ contestant officially holds the 2nd longest winning streak in the show’s history:

Twenty-one wins later, and James Holzhauer is now in second place on the “Jeopardy!” all-time consecutive wins list.

Holzhauer won $80,615 on Thursday’s episode, bringing his total to $1,608,627.
The final clue from the night was: “A character in this 1944 play is said to be like a piece of her own collection, ‘too exquisitely fragile to move from the shelf.'”

Chiefs star Tyreek Hill denies abuse allegation in letter to NFL:

In a letter to the NFL, Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill denies he has ever punched his son or grabbed the boy’s arms, and his lawyer says he has text messages that show Hill’s fiancée has hurt the child in the past, ESPN reported Thursday.

The three-plus-page letter, signed by one of Hill’s attorneys and obtained by ESPN, says the two-time All-Pro will cooperate with the league’s investigation into allegations Hill abused his 3-year-old son.

Chinese woman who paid $6.5M after her daughter got into Stanford says she did it to help others:

The mother of a Chinese student who was admitted to Stanford University said the family gave $6.5 million to the man at the center of a massive college admissions scandal — but as a donation to help others.

Fifty people have been charged in the largest college admissions scam ever prosecuted in the United States. The scandal has ensnared celebrities, but none of them is accused of spending as much as the Chinese woman.
In a statement provided through her attorney, the woman identified as Mrs. Zhao admits giving $6.5 million to the foundation of William “Rick” Singer, the ring leader of the scam.
