On Wednesday, Madison Police officers raided the Lion of Judah House of Rastafari on West Mifflin Street, arresting the two founders Jesse Schworck and Dylan Bangert.
The two appeared in court Friday and were told not to return to the church or use marijuana. They were then released from jail.
Friday night, one of the founders posted pictures on the church’s Facebook page, brazenly posing in front of a squad car with what appeared to be drugs.
They were back in jail Saturday for ignoring the conditions, among other crimes.
“It didn’t surprise me one bit that they were back in jail,” Alder Mike Verveer said. “They have continually shown that they have complete disregard for the rule of law.”
