With Father’s Day just around the corner, a local hair stylist is making sure dads and daughters share a special bond.

“Doing hair for me is just, it’s a passion and it’s a passion for me to teach other people to do hair too,” explains Natruelly Mee Owner,  Tieya Riggins.

“It’s really important that dads are involved, we kind of like, shut them out when it comes to the hair thing and we kind of take over as women.”

On Saturday June 15th, Riggins is hosting a free Father/Daughter class teaching dads how to create fun and easy hairstyles.  You have to register through Eventbrite.

“It gives that confidence booster and it doesn’t make them feel out of place because they see other men that are also in that place trying to do it,” she says.

“It’s good that everyone in the household learns so that everybody can pitch in, it’s not so much stress on one person.”

Riggins also wants to host another session in August ahead of the new school year. This time she’ll open the class to fathers and mothers.
