CHARDON, Ohio — The Geauga County Sheriff is asking for people to avoid Chardon Road after a man has barricaded himself into a home.

Deputies said Chardon Road is closed at Calico Lane just east of All Souls Cemetery.

Officials said they received a call around 4 p.m. about a man who damaged a neighbors car.

The standoff continued overnight and lasted more than 12 hours. The man was taken out of a Jeep on Mulberry Road and into custody just after 6 a.m. Monday, according to the Chardon Fire Department.
