Officials at Lighthouse Full Life Center Church in Grand Rapids say that after an overwhelming number of requests, they are making the program from MaLinda Sapp’s funeral “Homegoing Service” available online.
Sapp, the church’s administrative pastor and wife of Lighthouse senior pastor and gospel star Marvin Sapp, died of cancer last month. Her Sept. 16 memorial service at Resurrection Life Church in Wyoming featured dignitaries such as the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Grammy-winning gospel singer Israel Houghton.
The 12-page, color booklet includes her biography, the complete service program listings, several poems read during the service, photographs of the Sapps and their three children and additional information.
A limited number of booklets were distributed at the service, which drew more than 2,000 mourners and was viewed live online by an estimated 100,000 people.
The booklet can be viewed on the church website free of charge. A PDF version can be printed for a $10 donation to the Grand Rapids Ellington Academy of Arts & Technology, the designated charity for memorial contributions.
