The month of February is dedicated to raising awareness about heart health and heart disease.  

This month is spear-headed by Go Red for Women, a movement dedicated to wiping out heart disease in women.

Millions of women around the country wear the color red to show their support for the movement.

The goal of the campaign is to reduce coronary heart disease and stroke risk by 25% in 2010.

Heart disease is often perceived as a man’s disease, but that fact couldn’t be more wrong.  Go Red for Women is spreading the word to women about how to talk to their doctors, what simple things we can do to avoid and prevent heart disease and how to help others like themselves.
