The program will work this way: Kids can board a bus or train and tell the operator that they need help. This could involve anything from escaping a crime, homelessness, abuse or a bad home situation. The driver will radio a field supervisor or transit police officer who will meet the bus or train on its route and drive the youth to one of the agencies. Standard emergency procedures would be followed if the child needs immediate medical attention.
