M athew Knowles, the founder, president and CEO of Music World Entertainment, has been named to the Gospel Music Association’s board of directors. Matthew, who helped launch the career of Destiny’s Child and the solo careers of its members, including daughter Beyoncé — will sit on the 35-member GMA board.
“These are challenging times in the music industry, but it’s extremely important for us to work together to meet those challenges and to achieve long-term stability and profitability for our business, for our Christian and gospel artists and the faithful listeners they serve,” Matthew said in a statement.
In addition to being president and CEO of Music World Entertainment, Matthew is a professor at Texas Southern University and a member of the board of trustees for Fisk University in Nashville, his alma mater.
