Praise and Worship leader, William McDowell released his now popular AS WE WORSHIP: LIVE album more than two years ago. And while people around the country are familiar with his song “I Give Myself Away,” few know the heart behind Gospel’s biggest songs.
McDowell’s beginnings on his keyboard at his home in Cincinnati, OH produced the passion and heart for worship that he possesses today. As a student at Full Sail University in Orlando, FL, he became the Music Director for International Praise and Worship pioneer, Ron Kenoly. Kenoly mentored McDowell and helped prepare him for the call on his life to reach the world.
McDowell became Worship Pastor at The Gathering Place Church (TGP) and went on to further develop his gift of leading worship with a prophetic edge. It was at TGP that “I Give Myself Away” was delivered prophetically by McDowell. A husband and father and prophetic worship leader, McDowell now travels the world, sharing his gift and giving himself away.
At his core, McDowell is a worshipper whose entire passion is to bring forth music for God. Genuinely living the lyrics to “I Give Myself Away,” McDowell strips away everything so God may use him. His dedication to his call as a worshipper has led to unimaginable success for the album.
