With more than 500 million registered Facebook users, businesses everywhere are using social media to attract customers.
If you’re looking for a deal, log on to Facebook, choose a business, click “like” or become a “friend” or a “fan.”
Some businesses offer discounts, others like RedBox movies will give you a DVD rental free of charge if you “like” their Facebook page.
Local businesses like Vanity Lab salon and spa in Westlake say the promotions are taking off. “With ‘fans’, we will offer them last-minute deals. If we had a cancellation or some openings for a massage or a haircut, they’ll be notified as a ‘fan’,” said owner Jim Hofelich.
Sushi Rock restaurant in downtown Cleveland even offers their “fans” a chance to vote on an upcoming deal.
