Thursday (March 3) was 20 years to the day that Rodney King became THE police brutality icon. Tonight, CNN will present an exclusive interview with King to retrace the historic events of that night in 1991.
The special, “Race and Rage: The Beating of Rodney King,” will feature King, now 45, talking with CNN anchor Don Lemon about the beating and its aftermath which brought riots, deaths and billions of dollars in property damage. The two will literally revisit the scene of the crime, discuss King’s ascension to being a symbol of police brutality and discuss his life today.
