There is a point in our lives when we decide that we just must embrace happiness and joy. That comes with great price and sacrifice to get there.Joy can make one feel good – but the emotion that joy may produce is not joy itself. There is an element in joy that is a yearning or longing. Joy is a word used to attempt to describe a powerful working of the human heart. We have the power to hold in our heart the certain knowledge that we are living out our part in the Master’s plan. Joy is the yearning for that moment when our faith will be sight.
The lyrics remind us that we must find that joy.
Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him /Though He slay me, I?ll trust in the Lord
Though talked about and misunderstood /Yes, I?ve been lied on, but still have my joy
Weeping may endure for a night /But I?m glad that I still have joy
After all that I?ve been through / I still have my joy
This yearning, fueled by the Holy Spirit of God, leaves no room for doubt or the possibility of disappointment.
