The fate of accused serial killer Anthony Sowell is now in the hands of a Cuyahoga County jury.

Sowell is charged with 83 counts of aggravated murder, murder, kidnapping and rape in connection with the discovery of 11 bodies in and around his Imperial Avenue home in October 2009.

Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Dick Ambrose said one juror was taken from the courthouse by ambulance and replaced by an alternate in the midst of closing arguments. He said the woman became faint during a lunch break Wednesday and was taken to a hospital. Her condition does not appear to be life-threatening. Three alternate jurors remain.

Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Pinky Carr told the jury that “Sowell wasn’t crazy. He’s crafty,” while describing how he murdered 11 women and then hid their bodies in and around his home.
