T he event dubbed the 2011 Hoodie Awards, with Hoodie being a derivative of neighborhood, took place over the weekend at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. Presenters for the ninth installment include Kevin Hart, Tisha Campbell-Martin, Tichina Arnold, LeToya Luckett, Tye Tribbett, and others. Performances by R&B Soul stars, Jill Scott & Kem and gospel singer Kirk Franklin blaze the stage. The Hoodie Awards is the brain-child of funny man, Steve Harvey. The awards honors businesses, religious establishments and community leaders for their contributions to neighborhoods across America. Awards include best church, best high school and teacher, best choir, best community leader, best barbershop and beauty salon — and even best soul food and best fried chicken!
