Bishop T.D. Jakes is taking his conference, Megafest to another level by adding a business component.
Jakes said he wanted to take MegaFest “to another level,” as part of a broader effort to help lift those left behind by the nation’s motley economic recovery.
“Right now … certain sectors of our country are not rebounding as rapidly as others,” said Jakes. “I think the church’s role is to [serve] the community and to meet the community’s needs as best we can, whatever they are.
“Helping people take care of their families in more creative ways is very important.”
The conference, which is expected to attract 100,000 participants, will include sessions on launching and growing a business. Local lenders will be available in an expo area to talk about funding, Jakes sa
