There are many stories about folks who were fired before they became rich and famous.  Naturally, their philosophy is ‘that was the best thing that ever happened’ . . . however, that isn’t always the case.  Most of the folks in this gallery were already famous before getting the axe.  A few have gone on to greater things, a few . . . not so much,  a few are still trying to catch the fame train and some use their celebrity to do other things.

Stacey Dash was not asked back for the second season of ‘Single Ladies’ supposedly because she and co-star LisaRaye McCoy had a disagreement. However, McCoy has denied this rumor. Stacey was all set to star in the movie ‘Supremacy’ along side Danny Glover, Evan Ross and Joe Anderson. Producers reportedly grew tired of her rudeness and being disrespectful to cast and crew members, so they fired her.

Basketball analyst and former NBA player Greg Anthony was suspended indefinitely by CBS on Saturday after he was arrested on a charge of soliciting a prostitute in a Washington, D.C., hotel room.

VH1 let the rapper/producer and star of their show ‘Love and Hip Hop Hollywood’ go after alleged rumors of domestic violence against his girlfriend.

The infamous football player alleges that he was cut from two NFL teams because he was the league’s first openly gay player.

‘Scandal’ – Columbus Short was famously fired after several bouts with domestic violence with his estranged wife, erratic behavior in television and radio and bar fights that ultimately landed him behind bars.

6. Lisa Bonet

‘A Different World’ – After the first season, Lisa Bonet became pregnant with her (then) husband, Lenny Kravitz. This did not go over well with the producers and she was written off the show.
