Youth with warrants for Juvenile offenses committed in Cuyahoga County when they were 17 years old or younger can take a first step toward a second chance at the Juvenile Safe Surrender event.

Youth with warrants can safely surrender at the Juvenile Justice Center located at 9300 Quincy Avenue, Cleveland Ohio, 44106. Juveniles should bring their Parent or Legal Guardian.

At the event, they can consult with an attorney and speak with a Judge. Community support service providers will also be on-site.

Youth with warrants are being encouraged to come in, be safe and get help!

This event will be the first time in the country that Safe Surrender is being offered to fugitive juveniles. Originally, Fugitive Safe Surrender was conceived following the shooting death of Cleveland Patrolman Wayne Leon, who was killed during a traffic stop with a wanted fugitive. The program was formed with the goal of preventing violent confrontations between officers and adult fugitives and has been successful. Now the program is being offered to juveniles who have a warrant for a juvenile offense committed in Cuyahoga County when they were 17 years old or younger.

The Juvenile Safe Surrender program is running Sept. 22 through Sept. 25 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
