The Cleveland Cavaliers’ new NBA Development League franchise in Canton will hold open player tryouts in Canton and Cleveland, the Canton team announced today.
Spokesman Garin Narain said the NBA lockout does not affect this league and that the tryouts will go forward. He added that the D-League’s season gets underway Nov. 25.
Open tryouts will offer players the opportunity to showcase their talents and earn an invitation to the team’s official training camp in November.
The Cleveland tryout will begin on Saturday, Oct. 8 and continue on Sunday, Oct. 9 at St. Ignatius High School, 1911 West 30th St. in Cleveland.
The Canton tryout will begin on Saturday, Oct. 15 and continue on Sunday, Oct. 16 at the Canton Memorial Fieldhouse, 1815 Harrison Ave. NW in Canton.
