Ladanian Tomlinson has been selected to five NFL Pro Bowls. In 2003, he became the first player in NFL history to rush for 1,000 yards and record 100 receptions in the same season. He won two rushing titles, in 2006 and 2007, while playing for the San Diego Chargers.

During the 2006 NFL season, he set several records and received numerous honors and awards including the NFL’s Most Valuable Player Award and The Associated Press’ Offensive Player of the Year Award, says Black Christian News.

Sitting in church one day, at the age of 14, he was overwhelmed by the Spirit of God.

“I just started to cry for some reason,” he recalls. “I couldn’t stop crying…At the same time, I felt like my life had changed. From that point on, I knew that if I had faith in God that He would take me wherever I wanted to go, as long as I praised His name and as long as I gave Him all the glory in whatever I did.” Part of giving God glory is being a Christian example to his fellow teammates. And he is known as much for his humility as he is for his records. He keeps the right perspective by finding his identity in Christ, not football. His name is LaDainian Tomlinson.
