Jurors in the trial of Conrad Murray have found the doctor guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.

The jury buzzed three times at 10:56 a.m. to signal a verdict has been reached after about nine hours of deliberation.

Jackson’s family began arriving at the downtown Los Angeles courtroom just before noon.

The seven man and five woman jury must decide if Dr. Conrad Murray was criminally negligent in his use of the surgical anesthetic propofol to treat Jackson’s insomnia and if it significantly contributed to the singer’s 2009 death.

The jurors did not ask for any testimony to be read back during their deliberations.

The only requests they made were for their breaks and for some items to be delivered.

They asked for ballpoint pens and highlighters on Friday.

On Monday, they asked for some paper towels and toilet paper.

The panel heard from 49 witnesses over 23 days, including Murray’s girlfriends and patients, Jackson’s former employees, investigators, and medical experts for each side.

The prosecution and the defense presented their closing arguments last Thursday.

Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, his father, Joe Jackson and siblings Randy and La Toya Jackson were in court.

Murray’s mother was seated on the other side of the packed courtroom.

The evidence is “overwhelming” and “it’s abundantly clear” that Dr. Conrad Murray caused the death of Michael Jackson, the prosecutor David Walgren told jurors.

“Conrad Murray left Prince, Paris and Blanket without a father,” Walgren said. “For them, this case doesn’t end today, or tomorrow. For Michael’s children, this case will go on forever, because they do not have a father, they do not have a father because of the actions of Conrad Murray.”
