Coined Ohio’s largest seasonal ice skating rink, Lock 3 will open to the public in downtown Akron on Friday, November 18.

Admission to the ice rink is free to everyone. Skates can be rented for $3. Strap-on skates are free for toddlers based on availability. Pre-schoolers must be accompanied by an adult on skates.

The rink will be attended weekends Thursdays through Sundays. Skaters are advised to use the rink at their own risk Mondays through Wednesdays during daylight hours.

This year Lock 3 visitors can also enjoy a new 150 foot sledding hill.

This is the eighth year the city of Akron has sponsored the seasonal event that also features downtown shopping, exhibits, specialty foods, and children activities provided by FirstMerit Bank.
