Fans of southern-style comfort food got to sample some famous dishes Sunday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church on E. 126th St. in Cleveland.
The dishes, provided by Macedonia manufacturer, Simply Southern Sides, were made available as part of the Got Sides To Go program.
The program offers financial support to churches and their members by allowing churches to sell southern comfort food online for nearly 30% off the grocery price, with 10% of each purchase donated to their church.
The majority of the southern side dishes offered are considered ‘heart healthy,’ which means that they meet the recommended dietary allowances in terms of the level of salt, sugar, fat, and cholesterol per individual serving.
Mt. Olive is the second church in Northeast Ohio to launch the new program.
