BMI recognized Christian music’s songwriters and music publishers behind the most performed songs from the past year during their annual Christian Music Awards.
Kirk Franklin won for Christian Song of the Year for the mega hit song, “I Smile,” which was published by Aunt Gertrude Music Publishing LLC and Bridge Building Music.
There was an unusual five-way tie for Christian Songwriter of the Year between tobyMac, Mark Hall, Matt Maher, Kyla Rowland and Chris Stevens.
