After reviewing hundreds of audition videos submitted by choirs from all over the country, the top choirs were selected by a panel of judges, to perform at the 2012 Verizon How Sweet the Sound gospel celebration. CONGRATULATIONS to following choirs that have been selected to perform September 15 at Joe Louis Arena in DETROIT: Larry Callahan & Selected of God, Anointed Voices of Higher Ground, Albert Strickland & CHO’ZEN, Highest Praise Community Gospel Choir, The Apostolic Church Sanctuary Choir, and Pleasant Green Choir!

Selected of God is a dynamic gospel choir consisting of nurses, doctors and teachers. They are simply blessed at what they do and they are sure to please everyone that hears them. Mr. Larry Callahan started Selected of God as a testimony that Detroit is not only blossoming in the car business but with eclectic voices and ages ranging from 21-53. In 2011 Selected of God boosted their career with their rendition of Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”, which gave them a lot of publicity.

Selected of God is anticipating their upcoming album Evolution, set to drop in September 2012. The album features from top musicians Allan “Snoop” Evans of Detroit, Ethan Farmer from Los Angeles and Kevin Powell from Connecticut and even an appearance by Larry Callahan’s little brother Robert Skinner. This new album truly showcases their signature hip church swagg in the single “Dwell In Me” and their special version of the Clarke Sisters notable “Sunshine”.
