Art

Jungle Series Quilt Exhibition

When: 9:00 a.m.

Where: Wayne Center for the Arts|-237 South Walnut Street, Wooster

Details: Join Kathryn Arango as she presents her colorful art quilts at the jungle Series exhibition at Wayne Center for the Arts. These narrative quilts illustrate Arango’s newly published memoir, “Jungle, Solitutde, Dreams,” which captures her adventures living in Colombia among exotic animals like jaguars and anacondas. The exhibition runs through Saturday, October 27. For more information on the exhibit call the Wayne Center for the Arts at (330) 264-2787.

 

“Photo Finish” – a Cleveland Clinic Art Exhibition

When: 9:00 a.m.

Where: Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute Tower|-9500 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland

Details: Visit Cleveland Clinic’s  Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute Tower lobby for an exhibit of art by local artists Matthew Brandt, Corin Hewitt, Mariah Robertson and Walead Beshty. This collection of work features photographs created through scientific experimentation, repeat edits and alteration, and retooling. Oberlin Community Arts and Culture Day

When: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Where: Oberlin Heritage Center|-600 Kendal Drive, Oberlin

Details: Join members of the Oberlin Heritage Center for Arts and Culture Day. Themed “Arts and Culture of the Renaissance,” this year’s event will feature tours and activities at the Art Museum, FAVA, Oberlin Public library and Oberlin Heritage Center. While at the heritage center, children who visit the Little Red Schoolhouse can ring the bell and take part in organized schoolyard games that date back to before the Renaissance. Visitors can also take part in a variety of Renaissance related crafts and other hands-on activities hosted by staff. Theosophical Society Movie Night

When: 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Where: Theosophical Society in Cleveland|-2215 Brookpark Road, Parma

Details: Join members of the Theosophical Society fore a movie night focused on science, religion, philosophy, and empowerment. Popcorn and drinks will be provided.
