In this hurry-up world, a valley church has added prayer to the list of things you can do without even getting out of your vehicle. You’re basically getting “God to go.”

Living Streams Church in central Phoenix started offering drive-thru prayers last year. It was such a hit, they are doing it again.

You pull up and a church volunteer fills out a prayer request form and then prays with you for you.

Spirituality on the fly? This Phoenix church offers a way to connect with a higher power without getting out of your car.

“Some people will have a number of things they want prayed for so we just pray for whatever their concerns are,” says Pastor Faith Cummings.

The number of people driving through for a prayer has increased lately, says Pastor Cummings. She thinks the combination of a tough economy, the war, and the holidays have more people turning to prayer for comfort.

“We have people of all different faiths that drive through, so some will clasp their hands and bow their heads, others want to touch you and that’s fine. It varies a great deal according to the person’s faith.”

We asked people walking by what they thought of the drive-thru prayer service.

“I like it… I don’t think I’d use it. I like going in and sitting down but for people in a rush, I think it’s alright,” says Carson Wethersfield.

“I suppose it’s convenient for some people. I think prayer is a personal thing… if you feel good doing a little drive-thru I say go for it,” says Katy June.

Pastor Cummings estimates about 5 people a day drive through for prayers. They do not accept donations, though many have been offered.

“We just say thank you for stopping by, please stop by again if you’d like. Let us know when God answers your prayer.”

The drive-thru prayer is open three days a week from 3:30 in the afternoon to 5:30.
