For Black History Month, Genesee District Library is bringing one of the state’s most successful gospel artists in the country to Flint.

On Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, singer Marvin Sapp will perform at the 12th Annual Black History Month Brunch. The brunch begins at 10 a.m. at Genesys Conference & Banquet Center, 805 Health Park Blvd., Grand Blanc, Mich.

Tickets for the event are $30 each or $300 for a table of ten, and an email from the GDL claims that they are nearly sold out.

Sapp was born and raised in Grand Rapids, and has enjoyed success on the Billboard charts with albums like “Thirsty” and “Here I Am.” He is also a two-time BET Awards Gospel Artist winner, and also won several awards at last year’s 26th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards.
