Your favorite soap opera characters are coming back from the dead. Sure, it seems like a classic soap opera plotline, but in this case, it’s a reality.

Months after “All My Children” and “One Life to Live” were canceled by ABC, the soaps are returning this Monday with most of the fan favorites you love (or hate), along with some new characters sprinkled in.

“I am so pleased that our dream of bringing these two series back to life is coming to fruition,” said Agnes Nixon, who created “All My Children” and “One Life to Live.”

There will be a couple more quirks. Instead of the 60-minute episodes fans were used to, the soaps will only be 30 minutes long and available to watch on Hulu, Hulu Plus and iTunes. New episodes run online Mondays through Thursdays, with a behind-the-scenes/recap show on Fridays.

“All My Children” will leap ahead five years, so faithful viewers of the soap will have to find out what happened when they last saw their Pine Valley character. Are we going to find out who JR shot (no, not “Who shot JR?” Different soap)?

Over in Llanview, Erika Slezak and Robin Strasser reprise their “One Life to Live” roles as Viki Lord and Dorian Lord, respectively. Fans will also see the return of Bo (Robert S. Woods), Nora (Hillary B. Smith), Blair (Kassie DePaiva) and other memorable cast members.

There’s also a new “One Life to Live” theme from soap fan Snoop Lion, who is even slated to appear in a couple of episodes. Plus, fresh from the “Jersey Shore,” Jenni “JWoww” Farley joins the show, playing a bartender.
